The Opale Foundation, dedicated to contemporary Aboriginal art
Opened in 2018 in the heart of the Valais Alps (Lens/Crans-Montana), the Opale Foundation is the only contemporary art center in Europe dedicated to promoting Australian Aboriginal art.
Born of the passion of its founder, Bérengère Primat, the foundation boasts an exceptional collection of over 1,700 works by 350 artists, one of the largest private collections of contemporary Aboriginal art in the world. It organizes temporary exhibitions in its 1,200 m² space, establishing dialogues between Aboriginal art and modern and contemporary international works, while questioning Eurocentric visions of art.
