Also known as fairy chimneys or coiffed damsels, the pyramids of Euseigne are one of the most fascinating geological phenomena in the Swiss Alps.
These columns of earth topped with blocks of stone, shaped by glacial erosion, look like something out of a fairy tale.
Now classified as a natural site of national importance, the pyramids are easily accessible from the Val d'Hérens road, but they can now be discovered in a whole new way. Thanks to the construction of a new tunnel, the old cantonal road that used to run beneath the pyramids is now pedestrian-friendly. A unique way to admire them up close, on foot, in a quiet, traffic-free environment.
